The International Journal of Historical Learning, Teaching and Research is the only peer refereed international journal dedicated to the theory and practice of History Education. Founded in 2001, IJHLTR is published twice yearly.
In 2009 the Historical Association of Great Britain became IJHLTR's publisher. The HA has revised the journal's structure to allow for a range of publications:
1. Academic articles of up to 6.000 words 2. Reports on curriculum research and development projects and initiatives 3. Book reviews 4. Monographs
IJHLTR is now an integral element in the Historical Association's portfolio of publications that includes the professional journals Primary History and Teaching History, the academic journal History, pamphlets, monographs, position papers and research reports as well a comprehensive range of resources, exemplar lessons, training guides, professional development course modules, related materials, information and podcasts on its website.
