many of you still have good memories of our last annual conference in sunny Antalya, so I would like to share the overall outcome of our evaluation of that event with you: It has shown that our Antalya conference was among the most popular EUROCLIO ACs ever! Let me thank you all for your rich feedback and congratulate the whole team once again for their excellent work! At the moment we are in the process of more detailed evaluation so that we will be able to take your wishes and input into consideration for next year and strife for constant improvement.
Speaking of next year makes me want to update you on the latest state of preparations for the upcoming Erfurt conference. Due to organizational reasons, the date had to be slightly shifted to the second week of April, so that our conference date has now been set for April 7th 13th 2013. This change resulted in our getting the most beautiful conference setting: Stunning Augustinerkloster in the old town of Erfurt, surrounded by a maze of alleys and half-timber houses by the brook. You will love it, believe me! We most certainly did when Jonathan, my Thuringian colleague Katrin and I met there two weeks ago to intensify our preparations. You might want to follow our feeds about Erfurt on facebook!
Facebook another keyword: What an amazing development in our EUROCLIO group! We have reached the mark of 1285 group members within the remarkably short time span between our Antalya AC and now. It is so good to see so many of you in lively exchange about issues of history learning and teaching. I think this will be a precious improvement in cross-border transparency and a huge gain for our already active network. It really is a pleasure to join in all those online debates, so please feel welcome, if you have not done so already!
Now let me wish you all fruitful weeks to come until our next newsletter in June!
All my best,
Sylvia
